-          The grand staff involves two separate staves usually with a treble clef for the top and a bass clef for the bottom, most commonly used for piano notation (right hand/left hand)

-          These two staves are linked visually with a bracket symbol to the left.

-          Through use of ledger lines, it is possible for a note written in the bass clef to be higher than a note written in the treble clef, and vice versa (ex. Bass clef D4 written and Treble clef B3 written)
