- On the keyboard there are white and black keys.
- The black keys are arranged in groups of 2’s and 3’s
- The white key to the left of a group of 2 black keys is the note C
- (every white key to the left of a group of 2 black key is also C, in different
octaves)
- The white key to the left of C is B
- The white key to the left of B is A
- The white key to the right of C is D
- The white keys to the right of D are , E, F, G respectively
- From starting note A, moving to the right on the keyboard (ascending in
pitch) the named white keys are A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D, E, F, G etc.
- When a white note is named by its letter, it can also be called “natural”
(e.g. C-Natural, D-Natural)
